Daniel Pearl A.S.C. - Director of Photography
Daniel Pearl Within months of receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas, Daniel photographed the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the legendary independent feature which is part of the permanent film collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. Recognized by Fortune as a major force in music video, his use of light and lens is exemplified in Michael Jackson’s "Billie Jean". Pearl has ten MTV Best Cinematography nominations while winning for "Every Breath You Take" by the Police, and again for "November Rain" by Guns & Roses. Daniel photographed over three hundred commercials, also manages to create some of the advertising industry's best images – winning the AICP award for his work on Motorola's "Wings" spot which is also in the MOMA collection. Spending his time split between commercials and feature films, Pathfinder, Alien vs. Predator "Requiem", Captivity, Michael Bay´s 2 Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the Thirteen and many more. Regarded by Kodak as one of the “World’s Leading Cinematographers”, he was honored by CamerImage with their Golden Frog Award for his outstanding achievements in Music Video and Commercial Cinematography.
