Chris Hof - Director of Photography

Chris Hof is a german based DoP. At the age of fourteen, he was fascinated by black and white art photography. After studying photography and film at Bavaria Film Studios, he moved to Paris and worked as a photographer, shooting fashion for Marie Claire and Vogue magazine. Back to Munich he worked as a focus puller for various film companies, advertising projects, TV series and international movies. During this time he collaborated with film giants like: Wolfgang Petersen, Luis Bunuel jr., Dan Curtis, Alex Phillips. Then he joined the BVK, the german society of cinematographers. He quickly built himself up a reputation for a fresh eye on cars, emotional storytelling, lifestyle and beauty. Some of his productions got several nominations and prizes at the New York Festivals. His touch in photography goes on aesthetic imagery, graphical composition and atmospheric lighting. He is fascinated by colors and contrasts that transfers content and messages in order to enhance cineastic communication as well as to underline the appropriate emotional impact.
